MPs returned 1.65 million UAH of illegal compensation for housing is NABOO
KIEV. April 22. UNN. People’s deputies of Ukraine of the VIII convocation back about 1.65 million UAH wrongly received compensation for rent of housing or hiring of hotel rooms. It is reported by UNN with reference to the press service of NABOO.
“About 1.65 million UAH wrongly received compensation for rent of housing or hiring of hotel rooms in Kiev was returned to the people’s deputies of Ukraine of the VIII convocation after detectives from the National Bureau began its investigation in October 2018. A number of deputies have reconsidered their need for compensation and refused it. As a result, given the size of the monthly payment of compensation for December 2018 January 2019 Administration of Affairs of Apparatus of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine saved about 4 million UAH”, — stated in the message.

It is reported that in this case the investigation examines the facts of receiving about 11 million UAH several dozen former deputies. As found by the detectives NAB, each of these parliamentarians on the basis of applications submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine illegally received from 30 UAH to 1 million UAH, as it actually had its own housing in the capital or in close proximity (up to 30 km from borders of Kyiv).
It is also noted that in December 2019-March 2020 NABU and SAP prosecuted five people’s deputies of Ukraine of the VIII convocation for illegal compensation of more than 2.6 million UAH. For four of them the investigation has been completed, while three suspects had already reimbursed paid 1, 5 million UAH, without waiting for the verdict.
Three more people’s deputies acknowledged that indeed “mistakenly” receive compensation and voluntarily returned 160 thousand UAH.
In addition, in a letter to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Director, National Bureau outlined the circumstances under which, according to the investigation, had been illegally obtaining people’s deputies of compensation for housing and asked to address the shortcomings that contribute to crime.
Now for the compensation deputies should apply not only to statements, but the lease agreements of the housing and originals of payment documents and use to confirm the lack of housing in the capital and the suburbs of Kiev.
As previously UNN reported, the Highest anti-corruption court chose a measure of restraint in the form of a Deposit in the amount of 500 thousand UAH for the former people’s Deputy of Ukraine of the 8th convocation Andrey Levus, who is suspected of receiving illegal compensation for housing.
