22 April 2020 passed the 50th anniversary Earth Day – an annual celebration in the name of Pro-environmental behaviours. In 1970, about 20 million Americans first got together and demanded to devote more attention to the protection of our fragile planet. Since then, environmental activists around the world gather every year to celebrate this day.

Ironically, Earth Day this year takes place in the midst of a deadly pandemic. All meetings and public events cancelled. But that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate it, even staying at home! On the website of Earth Day represented more than a thousand different programs and activities from around the world. Some took place on Wednesday, April 22, some will last a few days. In any case, most of resources will remain accessible. Here is a small sampling:

Earth day 2020 live

A number of activists, including celebrities and political figures within 24 hours of discussions, performances, educational programs on the official web-site of the movement of Earth Day.

Animation and poetry in honor of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day

Morfoss from max Cooper and memo Akten

The seven-minute recording on YouTube, described as “a meditative study of the apparent infinite nature of space and natural physical structures.”

Safari with National Geographic

National Geographic encourages children to create their own Safari – to create a work of art with the image of the favorite animal, and then flaunt it in their Windows so that other people can see it.

This is only a very small sample. Why not just head and share the initiative by loving your planet people: various creativity competitions, and training on gardening on the roof in Nepal, and the workshop on climate change for students in Belarus. To find something interesting for yourself, you can click on the link of the event on the world map or on the calendar page of events. You can filter the list by type, age category and language.
