Zelensky has signed the law on the prohibition to charge penalties on loans during the period of quarantine

KIEV. July 1. UNN. The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky has signed a law on the prevention of penalties and fees on loans during the period of quarantine. About this UNN reports quoting the press service of the OP.

“President Vladimir Zelensky has signed the Law “On amendments to the Economic code of Ukraine and Civil code of Ukraine concerning prevention of the accrual of penalties on loans (loans) in a period of quarantine established to prevent the spread on the territory of Ukraine coronavirus disease COVID-19)” No. 691-IX, which the Verkhovna Rada adopted on 16 June 2020″, — stated in the message.

It is reported that the law protects borrowers from penalties and fees on loans during the period of quarantine and a 30-day period after its completion.

“To this end, the document introduces changes in the “Final provisions” of the Economic code of Ukraine and “Final and transitional provisions” of the Civil code of Ukraine, according to which in case of default by the borrower in a period of quarantine established by the Cabinet of Ministers on the territory of Ukraine, and/or within thirty days after the date of completion of quarantine perform monetary obligations under the agreement under which the borrower was granted a loan (loan) from a Bank or other lender (borrower), the borrower is exempt from the duty to pay in favor of the lender a penalty, penalty, penalty for such late”, — stated in the message.

Recall, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in whole draft law № 3297 regarding avoid accrual of penalties on loans in the period of quarantine established to prevent the spread on the territory of Ukraine coronavirus disease.
