Ukrainian politician, the leader of the party and the parliamentary faction of “Fatherland” Yulia Tymoshenko has become a dollar millionaire, receiving a loss compensation for political persecution.
As follows from the Declaration of Tymoshenko, who appeared on the website of the National Agency for prevention of corruption, on 24 April, she received an income of more than 148 million hryvnia – about five and a half million dollars.
The income is listed as “compensation of damages caused by political repression 2011-2014”. The amount was received in the USA in pre-trial settlement. Source of funds listed company Reid Collins Tsai LLP, registered in the state of Texas.
In 2011, during the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych, Yulia Tymoshenko was convicted of exceeding official powers when concluding gas contracts with Russia in 2009 and sentenced to 7 years imprisonment and payment of Naftogaz of 1.5 billion hryvnia. To get out of the prison policies are only in February 2014, after the events of Euromaidan and Yanukovych’s flight.
