Unemployment in Kiev for the year increased 2.7 times – Kyiv employment center
KIEV. June 5. UNN. In the Kyiv city employment center on the account is 22.7 thousand unemployed persons, which is 2.7 times more than in the same period last year. It is reported by UNN with reference to the information Department of the center.
“In the Kiev city center of employment as of June 1, 2020 registered is 22.7 thousand unemployed persons, which is 2.7 times more than in the same period last year”, – stated in the message.
It is indicated that among the unemployed consisting on the account, dominated by former trade workers (25%), public administration (10%), financial and insurance activities (9%), enterprises of processing industry (9%), representatives of sphere of information and telecommunications, professional, scientific and technical activities (7%).
“First you lost your job and those who worked in industries the activities of which were stopped during the quarantine. Also CGCS addressed a large number of people who officially worked for a long time that may have been occupied in shadow sector of economy”, – said the Director of the Kyiv city employment center Viktor Bilic.
It is reported that compared to last year, the number of ex-workers:
– temporary accommodation and food service grew more than 7 times;
– construction activities administrative and support services, trade – grew by 3 times;
sphere of art, sport, entertainment and leisure, the enterprises of processing industry, transport and sphere of information and telecommunications have grown more than in 2 times.
“However, in the period of weakening of quarantine the number of vacancies is gradually increasing. The number of current vacancies as of June 1, 2020 amounted to 9.6 thousand units. Employed unemployed to the position of Directors of enterprises and heads of departments, specialists, chief accountants and accountants, managers of various areas (sales, administrative work, retail, etc.), engineers and economists. Also unemployed employed in such occupations as driver, salesman, mechanic, security guard, etc.” – reported in the information Department.
Provided that the city employment service continues to work actively with companies that seek assistance for partial unemployment. As of June 4, 2020 256 small and medium-sized business assisted for partial unemployment. Thus employers were able to save jobs for almost 7 thousand employees.
Recall that in the week from 22 to 28 may, the number of official unemployed in Ukraine continued to rise, exceeding half a million people.
