U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch denied the words of the Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko, claiming that he had been given a list of “untouchables” to justice. it is reported Yovanovitch in response to the request of TSN.

According to her, the above statement Lutsenko is not true.

“Statements of the General Prosecutor of Ukraine are not true and are intended to weaken the reputation of the Ambassador Jovanovic”, – reads the statement of the Ambassador.

Jovanovic also said that similar accusations against the US are a manifestation of corruption in Ukraine. At the same time, the Ambassador said that such attacks only “deepens our determination to help Ukraine in achieving victory in the fight against corruption.”

In addition, the Ambassador reminded the attorney General that the claims that were voiced in the media, does not make the information more truthful.

“To succeed, Ukraine needs a loyal officials and a strong anti-corruption institutions”, – stated in the text.

The Embassy also hinted that the United States adhere to their obligations, including financial, but the funds are distributed based on the needs of the moment.

“In the absence of political will, for example, from the General Prosecutor’s office, we are fulfilling our responsibility to the American taxpayers and move aid to where they can make a positive result”, – explained in the Embassy.
