The U.S. justice Department has announced its intention to confiscate the property of Ihor Kolomoisky

The U.S. justice Department accuses tycoon Igor Kolomoisky in the theft of billions of dollars of PrivatBank, which he previously owned, and in disguise of income in America.

The claim on the confiscation of property in the United States of America Ministry of justice said that Igor Kolomoisky and his partner Gennady Bogolyubov stole PrivatBank such a huge amount that the national Bank of Ukraine was forced to give material assistance to more than five billion dollars.

Businessmen Kolomoisky and Bogolyubov acquired in the United States more than five million square feet of commercial real estate: the steel mills in Kentucky, West Virginia and Michigan, a plant for the production of smartphones in Illinois and property in Texas.

The statement, written in Russian, Kolomoisky said that all the money for the purchase of real estate in the United States was his own, received from the transaction with mining company in 2007 and 2008, as well as from other companies that worked with PrivatBank.

On Tuesday, August 4, FBI orchestrated raids in Kolomoysky’s company Optima Management Group, and also in the office in Miami.

Now the company Optima Ventures became the holder of the commercial real estate in Cleveland, using the stolen money for the purchase of office buildings, according to the Ministry of justice.

As described in claim ministersvo of justice, in General, Kolomoisky with Bogolyubov acquired about 500 thousand square meters of real estate in Ohio, steelmaking plants in Kentucky, West Virginia and Michigan, the production of mobile phones in Illinois, commercial property in Texas, the office Park in Dallas and the building of the PNC Plaza in Louisville.
