The U.S. state Department on Monday made the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov in the black list in connection with his involvement in serious human rights violations. In addition, this measure of the American foreign Ministry applied to his wife Medni Kadyrova and his daughters, Aishat, Khadizhat (Karina) Kadyrov.

“The state Department has a large number of reliable information about what Kadyrov is responsible for numerous serious human rights violations, including torture and extrajudicial killings,” reads the us state Department statement released on behalf of Secretary Michael Pompeo. The statement said that these crimes were committed over ten years ago.

“We have already imposed economic sanctions against Kadyrov and some of his colleagues. In 2018, the United States and 15 other countries have taken the extraordinary step of applying the OSCE Moscow mechanism, to create a survey mission reports of violence against members of the LGBT community, human rights defenders, independent media and other citizens, expressing disagreement with Kadyrov,” – said in a statement.

The official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, commenting on the decision of the US authorities, told “Interfax” that on Smolensk square will come up with the answer to the introduction of Kadyrov in the black list of the US state Department. “It will be difficult to meet the mirror, but we’ll figure something out,” said Zakharov.

Kadyrov has reacted to the hit in the sanctions list of the USA. “Pompeo, we accept the battle! Next will be more interesting!” – Kadyrov wrote in his telegram channel. The message he had a photograph standing with a gun in his hand.
