The case of the access of the FSB to the Crimea: the investigation against the defendant-Russians

KIEV. May 5. UNN. Pre-trial investigation concerning the citizen of Russia on suspicion of aiding and abetting the Commission of treason is completed. Defendants in the case suspected that their actions allowed the FSB of Russia, in particular, the data access of the subscribers within the territory of the occupied Crimea. It is reported by UNN citing the press service of the Office of the attorney General.

“… Completed pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings on suspicion of the citizen of the Russian Federation is aiding in treason to the citizens of Ukraine (part 5, article 27, part 2 of article 28, part 1 of article 111 of the criminal code of Ukraine)”, – stated in the message.

According to investigators, the owner of one of the largest Ukrainian companies providing IT-services, by prior agreement with the lawyer of this company, and with the complicity of the citizen of the Russian Federation on the territory of the occupied Crimea have registered a legal entity in the interests of FSB of the country-occupier, connect the telecommunications network entity to the System of operative-investigative activities, monitoring and storage of confidential user data on the Internet on the territory of the Crimea Peninsula.

They also provided access to network in “the government Inspector”, which is designed to block access to information resources, content and sites on the Internet, the list of which is defined by the “Roskomnadzor”, including the official state information resource of Ukraine.

It is noted that the placement of equipment and retain this data allows the Russian Federation and its intelligence agencies to access confidential information of subscribers who are on the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. In the future, they are used to identify and prosecute those who do not agree with changing the boundaries of the territory of Ukraine and occupation of Crimea, as well as to counter the legitimate activities of law-enforcement and other state bodies on the territory of Ukraine.

“Now the materials of production open to the defense for review, after which the indictment is directed to court for consideration in essence”, – stated in the message.
