The special Prosecutor of international court for crimes in Kosovo (SPO) in the Hague in the Netherlands has indicted the President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci in the crimes against humanity and war crimes committed in 1998-1999. this is stated in the press release SPO.

The indictment against Thaci, the former Kosovo Parliament speaker Kadri Veseli and other entities contains ten items, including charges of murder, kidnapping, harassment and torture. In conclusion, it is alleged that Thaci and Veseli other defendants responsible for nearly a hundred murders. Among the victims were representatives of the Kosovo Albanians, Serbs, Roma and other ethnic groups and political opponents of the accused.

“The President of Kosovo has just informed us that he canceled his trip to Washington after the announcement of the Special Prosecutor’s office. I respect his decision not to participate in the debate until the legal side of these charges is resolved,” – wrote Grenell.

Meanwhile, the talks between President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti, organized at the initiative of the President of the United States Donald trump, will take place on Saturday in Washington, said Grenell.

In Spectaculator noted that official notification about the charges issued in connection with the fact that Thaci and Veseli “made repeated efforts” to hinder the investigation. It is assumed that they secretly tried to overturn the law on the establishment of an international court for crimes in Kosovo. “Making these steps, Thaci and Veseli put their personal interests above the victims of their crimes, the law and all the people of Kosovo,” concluded Spectaculator.

Special court for Kosovo, established to address serious cross-border crimes, war crimes and crimes against humanity, committed between 1998 and 2000 in Kosovo.
