Major medical service will be on trial for extorting bribes from a wounded combatant
KIEV. May 28. UNN. In Zhytomyr will judge the army doctor, accused of extortion and receiving $ 1,000 of undue benefit of wounded combatants. It is reported by UNN citing the press-service of Prosecutor’s office of Zhytomyr region.
“The Prosecutor’s office in Zhytomyr region will support public prosecution in the case against the doctor of the military hospital, accused of obtaining illegal benefit for influence on decision-making by the person authorized to perform state functions, coupled with extortion of such benefits”, – stated in the message.
It is noted that in the present indictment under part 3 of article 369-2 of the Criminal code of Ukraine was approved and sent to the Royal district court of the city of Zhitomir.
According to investigators, a resident of military hospital, major medical services, demanded and received from a soldier wounded during fighting in the area of the OOS, undue benefit in the amount of $ 1,000 for issuance of a direction to MSEK on the appointment of a fighter of disability, indicating that the wound associated with the defense of the homeland.
The sanction of specified article prescribes punishment in the form of imprisonment for the term from three till eight years with confiscation of property.
