Lukashenko about relations with Putin: nothing sparks

KIEV. June 19. UNN. In relations between the presidents of Russia and Belarus “nothing sparks,” said the Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. It is reported by UNN citing the Belarusian news Agency BelTA.

Lukashenko told Lavrov about a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin: “we Have indeed held such an open, good conversation. Although many here think we have something to spark. Nothing sparks! There are always problems”.

In response, Lavrov said that “the spark needed for the spark to go forward,” then Lukashenka started to enumerate the problems of Russia and Belarus.

“Today you have political problems with the roof in connection with the adoption of new amendments to the Constitution. We have presidential elections. So really, like brothers, everything runs parallel, mirrored these issues that you have, that we have”, — said the Belarusian President.

Putin and Lukashenko talked on the phone the afternoon of 19 June. As reported on the website of the Kremlin, the two leaders discussed the fight against coronavirus infection and the finalization of the agreement on mutual recognition of visas.

As explained the press-Secretary of Lukashenko Natalia Eismont, “the speech of the Gazprom Bank (Belgazprombank — ed.) during a conversation would not go.”

The former head of Belgazprombank Victor Babariko, which was nominated for the post of President of Belarus, detained on 18 June. The Belarusian state control Committee, called bobariko “head of the illegal activities”.

The thing about money laundering and tax evasion in Belgazprombank started after the nomination of Babariko, it was reported about the detention of 15 former and current employees of the organization. The presidential elections in Belarus will be held on 9 August.
