KIEV. April 27. UNN. Today with a diagnosis of “pneumonia” in-patient treatment is more than 400 of Kiev. This was announced by the Director of the Department of health of Kyiv city state administration Valentina Ginzburg, reports UNN with reference to the press service of the KSCA.
“For the past day with a diagnosis of “pneumonia” was admitted to hospital on 16 Kiev. Just diagnosed at city hospitals, including in the infectious ward, treated 413 patients,” the statement reads.
Ginsburg recalled that the outbreak of coronavirus infection in Kiev has improved the provision of care for patients with pneumonia as the most dangerous complication COVID-19.
“First, we outlined the range of medical facilities that will take patients with pneumonia. Second, the relevant order of the Department, ordered the heads of medical institutions to introduce mandatory PCR testing for these people. This allowed to strengthen the control over the treatment of patients with pneumonia, to protect the chronically ill (e.g., diabetes, gastroenterological diseases) from being near a person who may potentially be infected, and to reduce the risk of disease for doctors who are now using enhanced protection, healing this group of patients,” said Ginsburg.
She also reported that a positive result on COVID-19 average is more than 15 percent of patients with pneumonia.
