About it reports TV channel BFMTV with reference to the Paris Prefecture of police. According to the preliminary information of the Ministry of internal Affairs in France today in demonstrations of the “yellow jackets” was attended by 8.3 thousand people, of which 3.1 thousand in Paris.

This is the 19th on account of the weekly movement of the “yellow jackets” from November 2018, against the policy of the President of France Emmanuel Makron.

On this authorities of Paris have banned a rally on the Champs Elysees and near the arc de Triomphe because of the numerous acts of vandalism and violence by demonstrators.

As UNIAN reported earlier, a wave of protests in France began on 17 November 2018 due to the announced increase in excise duties on fuel. The protestors rallied, blocked roads, gas stations, store, fuel and shopping centers.

On 5 December under pressure from protesters, the French government has completely abandoned the intention to increase the excise tax on fuel. The government has estimated that tax breaks and other fiscal measures, which the President macron announced to calm the demonstrations, will cost the country 10 billion euros.

However, despite concessions from the authorities, “yellow jackets” decided to continue the action.
