The mayor of new York bill de Blasio declared that the city authorities intend to implement a number of reforms in connection with the recent U.S. riots.

He noted that the city will reallocate a portion of funding allocated to the police, youth initiatives and social services.

“Details will be worked out in the budget process in the coming weeks. But I want people to understand that we intend to redeploy resources to focus on our youth,” he said.

Earlier, new York mayor bill de Blasio announced the cancellation of curfew in the city.

Protests in dozens of U.S. cities began after the death of the African-American George Floyd, who died in late may, shortly after his detention by the police. One of a group of police officers held him, pinning his neck with his knee.
