Sunday in many cities of Belarus have passed the pickets for collection of signatures for nomination of candidates for the post of President. Protesters also support a week ago arrested opposition activist Sergei Tikhanovski. No there were no arrests and now.

So, in Minsk, detained at least ten people, informs unregistered in Belarus human rights center “Spring”. In Gomel at the moment we know about three detainees, reports “Interfax”.

Later in Minsk police stated that “police officers detained the organizers and active participants of an unsanctioned event”. “In respect of them under administrative process”, – quotes words of the representative of the police Department, the Agency BelTA. “Established other individuals who also took part in an unsanctioned rally”, – added in militia.

The police emphasized that “some citizens at detention has rendered disobedience to legal requirement pravoohranitel, thereby hampering their work.”

Also among the detainees are several candidates, initiative groups which are not registered in the CEC, including Volha mikalaichyk, Veronika Mischenko, Alexander grechishnikov and Valentin Frolov.

Presidential elections in Belarus scheduled for 9 August. Signatures in support of his nomination candidates collected 14 contenders for the presidency. You must collect at least 100 thousand signatures.
Registration of presidential candidates will be held from 5 to 14 July, after which starts the period of election campaign.

The pickets for collection of signatures, according to the Belarusian legislation, are legitimate. Last weekend, human rights activists have also reported arrests of people participating in them.

Earlier the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has declared that will not allow Maidan in the country during the presidential elections.
