Ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk commented on the events in Belarus, described the differences between the protests in Minsk on the Maidan in Ukraine, as well as the possible exits from a situation that could benefit Alexander Lukashenko.

This he said in comments to television channel “Real time” reports Диалог.UA.

The former head of the Ukrainian government noted, Belarus needs to appear truly Russian or Pro-Belorussian President Lukashenko at the moment is not because the country is in a state delegitimizing “civil marriage” with Russia.

“In fact, Russia has absorbed Belarus. And a huge dependence on Moscow actually became one of the key objectives is for Putin to legitimize this civil marriage”, – said Yatsenyuk.

Ukrainian politician also added: the elections of the President are reassigning Lukashenko, which is very beneficial to Putin. Answering the question of the journalist Timur Olevskii about the first victory of Lukashenko in 1994, Yatsenyuk stressed: we should not compare the past with today’s.

“It is now 2020, about 1994, we are not talking. Now Putin is beneficial to Lukashenka’s hands were stained stained with blood. For it is profitable for Lukashenka was legally legitimate, and in fact, is already illegitimate President because Putin’s main idea is the same – the restoration of the Soviet Union. One of the puzzles of this Belarus is: he already tried to seize the Ukraine, but we did not allow him to do it,” – said Yatsenyuk.

Speaking about the differences between the protests in Belarus and Ukraine, the former head of the Cabinet noted: in 2014, the Ukrainians came not so much against Yanukovych and corruption, how much for European integration, NATO membership, the defence of its independence and integrity.

Finally Yatsenyuk advised the President of Belarus to go on repeated elections of the head of state and elected Parliament.

“He, as in the whole of Belarus, there is one right way. It is almost impossible to achieve, but it is the only right way. If Lukashenko says won the election, then let him go for re-election, and at the same time will announce new elections to the Parliament”, – concluded the former Prime Minister of Ukraine.

According to the policy for this effort should make US, the European Union and Ukraine, in addition, you will monitor the reaction of the Russian Federation.

As previously reported, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is losing its confidence that it can stay in power. This was stated by former Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus Igor Likhov.

Earlier, former Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Volodymyr Ogryzko said: if the Western countries will turn away from Lukashenko, the last nothing left but to finally come back under Moscow’s control and to accept the role of “Belarusian Governor-General”.
