About it, answering questions of deputies, said the representative of the President in the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Lutsenko, the correspondent of LIGA.net.
She recalled that the procedure for amending the Constitution involves several stages.
Today the deputies will vote to send the bill to the constitutional court for its opinion on the document, and the vote for the bill in the second reading shall occur at the next session of Parliament.
“In this process we will enter in the fall of 2018. Accordingly, the whole procedure will be delayed until 2019. Therefore, the President is not looking for temporary solutions, the President proposes a law that will change the lives of MPs for decades. The President thinks tomorrow take 300 votes… Actually, therefore, proposed in 2020,” – said the MP.

October 17, 2017 in the Parliament registered the draft law No.7203 of the authorship of the President, which proposed to amend article 80 of the Constitution (regarding the inviolability of people’s deputies). This article should be reworded as follows: “the deputies do not bear legal liability for voting results or statements in Parliament and its bodies, with the exception of liability for insult or defamation”.
150 deputies, previously introduced a bill on the same topic No.6773, which proposes to abolish immunity for following the publication of the law day.
