KIEV. May 17. UNN. The Ukrainians will not be able to regain the territory already captured by Russia, because Russia is too strong, but the price for the further advance of the Russians will continue to grow. This was stated by the special representative of the US state Department on Ukraine Kurt Walker in comments to BBC Ukraine, reports UNN.

“Of course, the Ukrainians will not be able to regain the territory already captured by Russia. Russia is too strong. But the price of further advance of Russia has grown and will grow even more. And if so, then those who are sitting in Moscow, you need to ask yourself the question: what do we get from that? We suffer losses, the death of Russian soldiers killed in Ukraine, and all this for what?” – said Walker.

This price, according to the American diplomat, may be new sanctions.

Earlier, Walker said that the conflict in the Donbas is still “hot” and after the re-election of Russian President Vladimir Putin, there is hope for some progress in the negotiations on this issue. According to him, Russia has not moved on and does not receive any new dividends out of the situation. It is therefore necessary to determine the conditions that will suit all parties, which will take into account the interests of both Russia and Ukraine, and the West, said the special representative of the United States.
