Ukraine must win for tortured during famines – Turchynov

KIEV. 24 Nov. UNN. Ukraine must win in the war with Russia for millions of Ukrainians who were tortured to death during famines. This is stated in the appeal of the Secretary of national security and defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov on the occasion of Day of memory of victims of Holodomor, reports from UNN to the press service of the NSDC.
“The artificial famine in Ukraine – a real genocide of the Ukrainian people is one of the biggest crimes of the Kremlin executioners, headed by Stalin. Orchestrated the Holodomor was a terrible step in the totalitarian colossus, the repressive chain that tried to strangle the resistance of the Ukrainians. In those terrible times, a piece of bread was worth more than life. Died first, hundreds, then thousands, then millions … And near villages that are starving, rotting millions of tons of grain … ” – he said.
Turchynov noted that the main goal of the Communist regime was the desire to completely destroy the traditions of Ukrainians, our spiritual culture, memory, to suppress the liberation movement, to break the age-old desire for freedom.
“Today, on Ukrainian soil again fighting, killing the best sons and daughters of our country. And how almost a hundred years ago, the main culprit is the Kremlin. But the enemy can not defeat us! We have to win! To win for the sake of those millions of innocent tortured, who dreamed of his free Ukraine!” – said Secretary of the NSDC.
Turchinov also called on today to remember all those who suffered from famine, all those who have died.
Recall that today Ukraine commemorates the 85th anniversary of the Holodomor.
For the Day of remembrance in the churches of Kiev and Ukraine will hold memorial services and ceremonies in the capital the memorial to the victims of the Holodomor.
Today at 16:00 will take place the action “light a candle” in memory of the victims of the Holodomor.
