The Ukrainian economy has lost the Russian occupation of Crimea and the aggression in the Donbass almost $100 billion this is stated in the report of the senior scientific employee of the Eurasian center of the Atlantic Council Anders Aslund, reports UKRINFORM.

As Aslund explains, the most simple and General definition of the amount of damages is calculated by multiplying the lost GDP into four.

“Donbass was the source of 10% of GDP of Ukraine and Crimea – 3,7%. IMF estimated Ukraine’s GDP before the crisis, 2013, $179,6 billion Thus, the total value of assets in Crimea and the Donbas accounted for 13.7% of the $179,6 billion multiplied by four, or $98.4 billion,” – said in the report.

Major material losses in the Crimea was the cost of land, energy assets, banks and their acts, businesses and housing. The cost of 18 gas fields in the Black sea – $40 billion.

In the Donbass economic benefit has fallen by approximately two thirds.

20 March, Parliament asked the Cabinet to develop a methodology for determining the damage and amount of losses caused to Ukraine by Russia’s aggression.
