KIEV. July 5. UNN. UK and Ukraine hold consultations on the issues of increasing the volume of bilateral trade and investment between the two countries after British exit from the EU. This is stated in the message on the website of the government of the United Kingdom, reports UNN.

“Ukraine and the UK agreed to work to strengthen the British-Ukrainian relations and increasing the volume of bilateral trade and investment between the two countries after British exit from the EU” – said in a joint statement, the UK and Ukraine, published a press-Department service.

In addition, the joint statement said that Ukraine welcomes the intention of the UK to avoid any disruptions of trade, as long as the process of a British exit from the EU.

So, both congratulated the country’s ongoing consultations to ensure the continuity of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, including deep and comprehensive free trade area (DCFTA), which promotes bilateral trade volume of more than 1.7 billion pounds after Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union.

“The UK has informed Ukraine about the agreement with the European Union, reached at the European Council meeting in March that the UK would be considered a country member of the EU in the context of international agreements during the transition period. This should give confidence to both British and Ukrainian businesses that, during the transitional period will not infringe existing trade relations and that the preferential terms of the Agreement between Ukraine and the EU will in the future be used by both parties”, – stated in the message.

Both countries agreed to work to strengthen the British-Ukrainian trade relations.

As reported UNN, Queen Elizabeth II on Tuesday gave Royal assent to the legislation, Prime Minister Theresa may on withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the EU.
