The government of Colombia recognized the new diplomatic representative of Venezuela, who was appointed the deputies of the Venezuelan National Assembly. Bogota, said it will actively cooperate with the transitional government of Venezuela, as Juan acknowledges, Guido the only President of the Bolivarian Republic. On Tuesday said the Minister of foreign Affairs Carlos Holmes Trujillo during a press conference.

“Venezuelan President’s name is Juan, Guido, and Columbia only recognizes him as President. Colombia is ready to actively cooperate with the transitional government,” – said the foreign Minister.

The Minister also added that Bogota will support all actions of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Venezuela. “Colombia appealed to the international community to support the transitional government for the convening of free and transparent elections that will allow the Venezuelan people to Express their will and choose the direction of [their future], which they would like to have”, – he stressed.

Recall, 23 January the leader of the Venezuelan opposition Juan Guido, whose appointment to the post of speaker of Parliament two days earlier revoked by the Supreme court of Venezuela, declared himself acting President of the country.

January 29, Washington imposed sanctions against the Venezuelan oil company PDVSA, and later gave Guido control of the assets of Venezuela to the US banks.

European countries, including the UK, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and France, said on January 26 that recognize, Guido interim President, if Maduro did not announce elections within eight days.
