Businessman Vadim Cherny – owner of the Odessa hotel “Tokyo Star”, which in the night of 17 August, during a fire killed 9 people, called his arrest a political order.
As the correspondent of the UNIAN reports, Black told reporters in the courtroom after the announcement of the decision about his arrest.
“You have to understand that this (detention – UNIAN) – political order. The judge carried out the order… Hope I have demonstrated that all possible means of fire protection we had,” said the businessman.
He added that, the functionality of fire protection in the hotel is confirmed, including the protocols of interrogation, and the rooms on the interrogations confirmed that the staff is “Old Tokyo” deduced them from the burning building.
He continues to insist that the fire signal was sent in time to a special remote, and it – “a question for those who have not arrived on time”.
One of the lawyers Denis Ponomarenko said that the protection essentially has filed an appeal, because “he knew what was happening”.
He said the pressure on his client, stating the obvious, in his opinion, the violations and expressed hope that the appeal court will be objective.
According to the lawyer, in the materials provided by the prosecution, there is no reason of fire, it is not specified what violations of fire safety took place, etc.
“We believe that our client has taken maximum measures to ensure fire safety in these premises”, – said the lawyer.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on the night of August 17 the Odessa hotel “Tokyo star” was a fire: 9 people were killed, 9 were hospitalized.
