The former head of the secret services began the preparation of documents for registration to CEC by the candidate in presidents of Ukraine.

Kiev. January 13. UNIAN. Former Chairman of security Service of Ukraine Ihor Smeshko has declared his intention to run for the presidency in 2019.

He said this today on his page in Facebook.

“The decision…. Started paperwork for registration to the CEC by the presidential candidate of Ukraine”, – wrote Smeshko.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine 31 Dec officially launched the campaign for presidential elections which will be held on March 31, 2019.

According to the calendar plan of measures on preparation and holding of regular elections of the President of Ukraine, which approved the Central election Commission before 3 February 2019 presidential candidates can submit their documents for registration. Within 5 days from the day of submitting documents to the Central election Commission shall take a decision on candidate registration or refusal to register him.

Campaigning is allowed from the day following the registration of the candidate and to 24:00 on 29 March.

Until January 29, the presidential candidates can apply for permission to have official observers. To unsubscribe from running candidates till March 7.

Voting for the presidential election will be held from 8:00 to 20:00 on 31 March. The results of the voting, the CEC should be set to 10 APR.
