The British government said that Russia was “almost certainly” tried to interfere in the parliamentary elections of 2019 in the UK. This statement was made head of the foreign Office, Dominic Raab. According to him, is under criminal investigation.

As the Minister in his written statement, on the basis of comprehensive analysis, the government concluded that “almost certainly Russian actors sought to intervene in the General elections in 2019,” by means of “online dissemination of illegally obtained and leaked government documents”.

According to Raab, we are talking about the leaked documents of the negotiations on free trade between great Britain and the United States ahead of the elections in 2019.

While the statement said that although “there is no evidence of the existence of an extensive campaign of Russia against the election”, but “any attempt to interfere in the democratic process is totally unacceptable”.
