According to Vladimir Putin, the decision of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on 25 October 2020 elections in local authorities – a direct threat to a peaceful settlement of the conflict in the Donbass. The President of the Russian Federation said during a telephone conversation with President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, reports Диалог.UA.
As reported a press-service of the Kremlin on the official website, according to Vladimir Putin, the holding in Ukraine local elections within the period specified in the Constitution, contrary to the Minsk agreements and makes it unlikely prospects for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in the Donbass.
Also Putin is not pleased, as he put it, “recent statements by senior officials of Ukraine on the inadmissibility of certain provisions of the “package of measures”.
Rather, it was about the statements of the representatives of the leadership of the state concerning the inadmissibility of inclusion in the Constitution of Ukraine are norms of direct action embodying the so-called “special status individual regions of Donetsk and Lugansk regions”.
Putin wants Ukraine, he said, “real action” to prove the inevitability of the Minsk agreements.
Here also we can assume that the Kremlin involves the steps of Ukraine towards settlement of the conflict in the Donbass on the Kremlin conditions (Ukraine ensures the territory economically, and Russia keeps political protectorate), which does not fit Ukraine.
We will remind, according to prominent journalist Vitaly Portnikov, imminent truce in the Donbas to nothing lead, as Putin peace in Ukraine is not needed.
In addition, it became clear, why Putin’s “special status” for “LC” and “DNR”, which intends to seek the Kremlin from Ukraine.
