“No one expected them to score so early. We have to study this point. In such games, you can’t skip so fast. I think that after the removal we started to play better. We have very good emotions. Few thought that we would beat Napoli on their field,” Quincey was quoted as saying by Sport-Express.
The player believes that the Napoli players were too confident in their victory and therefore underestimated Spartak. He added that it was good to be considered an outsider of the match in Naples, as this allowed to relieve pressure from some players of the Moscow team.
“You need to be careful underestimating us,” he said.
As part of Spartak, Quincy Promes scored a double (55th, 90th minutes). Mikhail Ignatov scored another goal for the guests (80th). Elif Elmas (1st minute) and Viktor Osimhen (90 + 4) scored goals for Napoli.
Spartak takes the second place in Group C with three points. Legia is in the lead (6 points). Napoli (1) is in third position, Leicester (1) is in fourth.
Earlier, Spartak head coach Rui Vitoria commented on the injury of the striker Ezequiel Ponce in the match with Napoli.
