The head of the government Volodymyr Groysman urged to stop blocking the supply of critical goods from certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

He said this at the Cabinet meeting, reports Interfax-Ukraine.

Further blocking of freight rail with ORDO, according to Groisman, will lead to a crisis in the energy sector and industry, reducing foreign currency earnings and slower economic growth of the country.

“Today, some Ukrainians want their own hands to disrupt the heating season and forced to use rolling blackouts. This is unacceptable. You need to delimit the fight against smuggling and the fight with the Ukrainian people”, — said the Prime Minister.

He stressed that such supplies depends on the industry, which employs 300 thousand people and which provides a significant share of exports and foreign exchange earnings to the country.

“If Avdeyevsky koksokhimzavod could stop the shelling of Russians, now it can stop because it has no raw materials to work with,” said the head of government.

He added that in the structure of production in Ukraine of electricity, over 30 per cent electricity from coal, and individual cities, in particular, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Cherkasy and Chernihiv, seriously dependent on coal in the heating plan.

“Anthracite coal is mined in the temporarily not under the control of the us territory. To modernize, to abandon the coal and go to gas a group which is extracted on the territory, we need three to five years and annual investment of not less than 15 billion UAH”, — said the Prime Minister.

According to him, the government is pursuing a policy of diversification of energy supplies, but it will take time.

Earlier, the energy Ministry said about the possible beginning of rolling blackouts since the end of March if you continue to completely block the supply of thermal coal from the zone ATO.
