The agreement on common aviation area between Ukraine and the European Union will be signed next year after the British exit from the EU.

This was announced by the Minister of infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan in Facebook, commenting on the results of the high level meeting “Transport dialogue EU-Ukraine”, which took place February 19-20.

“Reviewed transport strategy 2030 (agreed with the government that it urgently approve), as the preparation of European legislation (there is a clear will of parliamentarians to vote on 7 basic laws this year), the extension of the European transport network TEN-T and corridor development, the signing next year of the Agreement on joint aviation space, the use of new financial instruments of the EU,” the Minister wrote.

As explained Omeljan in the comment to UNIAN news Agency, the agreement will be signed after the British exit from the European Union.

We will remind, Ukraine in a few years negotiating with the EU on common aviation area, which would allow Ukrainian and EU airlines to operate freely in the air spaces of the European Union and Ukraine. However, the signing of the agreement is impossible without settlement of the dispute between Britain and Spain over Gibraltar, which became topical after the referendum on withdrawal of Britain from the European Union.
