KIEV. May 3. UNN. For the construction of a new runway at the airport of Odessa has allocated 500 million hryvnia. The Ministry of infrastructure initiated the allocation of 1.17 billion hryvnias for completion of work. The Minister of infrastructure Vladimir Omelian announced during the working trip to Odessa region, reports UNN with reference to the Ministry of Infrastructure.
“The absolute priority of the government, Ministry of infrastructure, local authorities — modern airport in Odessa. Now actively working on the construction of the new runway. Its construction has already been allocated 500 million hryvnia. The Ministry of infrastructure has also initiated the allocation of 1.17 billion hryvnias for completion of work. The initiative needs to be considered at a meeting of the government, I hope it will be supported. The next part should be sent out in June-July of this year,” he said.
As explained Omeljan, updated the airport in Odessa is necessary to start full operation in 2019.

Building the new runway will allow to accept the heavier types of aircraft, including Boeing-767, which will contribute to the increase in passenger traffic doubled. Bearing capacity of the new runway will be almost 2 times more than the existing one. Also in the framework of the project it is planned to install lighting, radio navigation and meteorological equipment for the certified approach category III (CAO).
We will remind, in the Ministry of infrastructure of Ukraine has proposed to reserve in the state budget by 2019 at least 10 billion hryvnia for the construction of regional airports.
