The Committee on oversight and government reform of the house of representatives of the U.S. Congress received evidence that a number of prominent members of the administration of President Donald trump has provided access to information constituting a state secret, 25 the persons to whom such permit had previously been denied due to unreliability. This was announced on Monday, the newspaper The New York Times with reference to the staff of this Committee.

According to their information, the source information was Tricia Newbold, acting Manager in the security Department of the staff of the White house. She last month gave closed testimony to members of the Committee on oversight and government reform of the lower house of Congress. In particular, Newbold claimed that among the aforementioned 25 persons – two is now a high-ranking employee of the White house, reports TASS.

They and others previously denied access to information, making state secret, for reasons such as “foreign influence, the conflict [public and private] interests, behavior problems, use of drugs and criminal acts”. The newspaper’s sources did not specify the names of these entities.

It is known that Trisha Newbold worked in the White house 18 years: with Republicans and Democrats in power.

NBC reported in January that the CIA and the White house staff responsible for security, twice previously denied-in-law and senior adviser to the President of the United States Jared Kushner in admission to the information constituting a state secret because of his ties with representatives of foreign countries. As mentioned in the material the US intelligence services expressed concern about the fact that Kushner may be subject to influence from the representatives of other States.

According to the NYT, trump in 2018 instructed the head of the office of White house staff to provide Kouchner access to classified information, despite the objections of intelligence officials and lawyers. According to the publication, the President’s decision has alarmed officials of high rank. In this regard, Donald Boston, who was then White house counsel, has prepared a memo in which it noted that it is not recommends that Kushner appropriate access and reminded that I am opposed to representatives of the CIA.

In January 2019, the Committee on oversight and government reform of the house of representatives of the U.S. Congress began investigating alleged abuses of the White house procedures for the provision of access to information constituting state secrets. About it reported in a statement on January 23 letter to the Chairman of the Committee, Democrat from Maryland, Elijah Cummings, the White house legal counsel Pat Cipollone.

“The Committee (…) begins a thorough investigation of the process of obtaining access to information constituting a state secret, in the White house and transition team (the headquarters of the elected President of the USA of Donald trump in 2016-2017, taking the case of leaving the administration of Barack Obama. – Approx. This is done in response to a serious breach in national security at the highest levels of the administration trump, we are talking in particular about the former assistant to the President for national security Michael Flynn and others”, – says the document.

The purpose of this investigation “to determine why the White house and transition team, apparently, ignored the established procedures for access protection of classified information, to assess the scale of how the most protected secret information of the state at the disposal of officials, which is not supposed to have access to them, as well as to develop mechanisms for reforms that would eliminate the shortcomings of the current systems and practices used in the White house,” the letter said Cummings.

Michael Flynn stayed on a post of the adviser of the President of Donald trump in just 24 days, after which he was dismissed in February 2017, as it was among the defendants in the investigation attributed to Russian attempts to influence the U.S. presidential election of 2016.

Flynn is accused in the fact that he was questioning the FBI lied about the content of their conversations during his meetings with Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak in Washington. In particular, Flynn participated in the discussion of the issue of anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the Obama administration in late 2016. During the meeting, Flynn allegedly gave the Kremlin a signal that Moscow can count on the easing of restrictive measures immediately after coming to power of Donald trump.

In early December of 2017 Flynn made a plea deal and pleaded guilty to making false statements to the FBI.

In January in the story of alleged Russian interference in the elections was a new figurant – the banker Robert Foresman. He after the victory of Donald trump on the US presidential election of 2016 tried to get an audience in the White house under the pretext of the presence of his close ties with the Trustees of the Russian leadership.

The name of the banker was quoted in the schedule of meetings of Thomas Barrack, who after the elections met the transition headquarters of the trump, and stood after the name of his son-in-law and now a senior adviser to the President Jared Kushner.
