Employees of the security Service of Ukraine exposed the bribery of the police station chief of one of the districts of Kharkiv region. About it reports press-the SBU center.
Operatives of the intelligence service established that the Lieutenant Colonel of police has organized a mechanism to extort money from a local businessman for not preventing the cutting down of forests.
During a pretrial investigation of SBU documented three facts of receiving by the head of the division of improper benefits for a total amount of 24 thousand UAH.
Security officers have detained the Lieutenant Colonel when receiving the next bribe in the amount of 10 thousand UAH.
Criminal proceedings carried out under part 3 of article 368 of the criminal code (receiving a bribe in especially large size or the official holding especially responsible position). The sanction of article prescribes punishment in the form of imprisonment for the term from five till 10 years with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term up to three years.

Now the issue of the announcement of suspicion to the detainee and election concerning it a preventive measure.
Yesterday in the SBU said that he was detained in Yuzhnoukrainsk the Nikolaev area two police officers who allegedly demanded money from drug addicts, threatening to “problems with the law.”
