KIEV. 15 Dec. UNN. The Metropolitan of Pereiaslav and Belotserkovsky Epiphanius on the vote for the new Primate of the Autocephalous local Orthodox Church of Ukraine won over by Metropolitan of Vinnitsa and Barsky Simeon with a margin of 20 votes. About this UNN reports citing BBC Ukraine.

“The Metropolitan Lutsky and the Volynsk Mikhail before the final vote, withdrew his candidacy. It has helped the Metropolitan of Pereiaslav and Belotserkovsky Epiphanius defeat of Metropolitan of Vinnitsa and Barsky Simeon with a margin of 20 votes,” – said the publication with reference to the members of the Council.

We will remind, by results of the Unification Cathedral in Kiev, chaired by the representative of the Ecumenical Patriarchate 15 Dec was established Autocephalous local Orthodox Church of Ukraine and approved by the Charter of the new Church.

Unification Council was elected Primate of unified local of the UOC Metropolitan Epiphanios.
