Alexander Lukashenka became President of Belarus, in fact this is the sixth term of presidency of this man.

Of all the heads of state of Europe, Lukashenko is the longest in power: this year marks 26 years since he first became President. And another of his victory could not remain unnoticed in Ukraine.

Диалог.UA collected comments of Ukrainian politicians, including former and current deputies of the Verkhovna Rada on this issue: some publicly congratulated Lukashenko on his victory, others said they would not recognize the results of the vote, and some even deleted the social media posts of congratulations.

For example, the Deputy from “Servants of the people” Eugene Kravchuk has published on his page in Facebook statement, which supported the will of the Belarusian people to choose representative bodies, including the President, democratic and legal way.

“Noteworthy is the fact that the protests in Belarus due to numerous reports of violations and some opaque events that occurred during the election campaign and on the voting day”, – the Deputy writes. She urged the Belarusian authorities “as quickly as possible provide true and clear answers to the questions of the protesters.”

At the same time, former MP, leader of “Radical party” Oleg Lyashko first wrote in his Facebook post with words of congratulations to Lukashenko and said that “the most important thing in the current situation, to stop military confrontation and to shed blood.”

“We need to do everything in order not to undermine neighboring Belarus inside, it never became a base for Russian aggression against Ukraine”, – wrote Lyashko. However, after some time, he deleted his post. Probably because of unflattering comments in his address.

But the MP from the “European solidarity” Alexey Goncharenko declared that he will demand from the Verkhovna Rada of non-recognition of results of elections of the President of Belarus.

“What is happening in Belarus today, is a result of failure of the Lukashenka regime from the European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Only the course towards European integration will give Belarusians the opportunity to participate in free and fair elections”, – the politician wrote in Facebook.

We also reported on how the people’s Deputy of Ukraine from fraction “the servant of the people” Evgeny Shevchenko congratulated Lukashenko on his victory in the presidential elections of the Republic of Belarus. His post on the social network sparked a verbal battle: a colleague in the faction colleague sharply criticized Elizabeth Bogutskaya.
