KIEV. July 14. UNN. The foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that increasing opportunities for women in all spheres of diplomatic service is a priority of the foreign Ministry. It is reported by UNN with reference to the press service of the foreign Ministry.

It is reported that on 14 July the Ministry of foreign Affairs held its first meeting of the Commission on gender equality under the leadership of the foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba and the first Deputy foreign Minister Emine Caprovoi.

“Ensuring equal rights and opportunities of women and men is primarily about equality. Therefore, our priority now is the expansion of real opportunities for women diplomatic in all sectors of the diplomatic service. For this we have the political will and resources, ” said Dmytro Kuleba.

It is specified that the session participants discussed the key provisions and status of implementation of the action Plan of the Ministry of foreign Affairs to ensure equal rights and opportunities of women and men in the system of bodies of diplomatic service of Ukraine until the end of 2020. Special attention was paid to examination of the draft Strategy of ensuring equal rights and opportunities of women and men in the system of bodies of diplomatic service of Ukraine.

“Further steps in this area will include the start of work at the foreign Ministry of the Association of women diplomatic, the introduction of mentoring, the inclusion of a gender approach in the process of recruitment and promotion, promoting awareness on the issue of gender equality and so on”, – stated in the message.

It is noted that the action Plan and Strategy developed as a result of the audit ensuring equal rights and opportunities of women and men, which was held in conjunction with the Office of UN Women in Ukraine.

Provided that the foreign Ministry of Ukraine became the first among the public authorities in Ukraine, which carried out such an audit in the framework of accession to the international movement for gender equality, “HeForShe” in 2018. According to the results, the independent experts produced a report and developed a list of specific recommendations.
