Kuleba met with the owners of Ukrainian business: the need to expand economic presence in Turkey

KIEV. The 4th of July. UNN. The Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba discussed the main problematic issues faced by Ukrainian enterprises in Turkey during a meeting with the owners and managers of Ukrainian businesses operating in the country. About this UNN reports quoting the press service of the foreign Ministry.

It is reported that Kuleba noted that the Ministry of foreign Affairs and diplomatic missions abroad have identified a priority the creation of additional opportunities for Ukrainian companies abroad, the development of mutually beneficial trade and investment with foreign countries, promotion of Ukrainian producers to the markets of other countries, protection of the legitimate rights and interests of Ukrainian business abroad.

“Participants openly discussed key problems faced by Ukrainian enterprises in Turkey. The Minister assured that he would raise those issues with the Turkish side and called on business to unite among themselves to strengthen his position”, – stated in the message.

It is reported that Kuleba said the IT services and agriculture as the two export areas that adequately represent the brand of Ukraine in the world. In particular, in violation of the pandemic of traditional supply chains, strong agricultural export defines Ukraine as a guarantor of food security of the world.

“Business representatives noted that the signed in 2017 updated agreement on the avoidance of double taxation and mutual promotion and protection of investments have improved conditions for their activities. They also stressed the importance of further work on the Agreement on free trade zone between Ukraine and Turkey”, – stated in the message.

Also Kuleba drew particular attention to the recently renewed Council of exporters and investors under the MFA of Ukraine. This body is able in practice to contribute to the domestic business in securing, in particular, in the Turkish market. Moreover, it is able to open additional prospects in common with our Turkish partners entering the markets of third countries.

“My goal is to build a foreign system that clearly works and helps businesses and investors. I encourage you to actively use the opportunities offered by the format of the Council of exporters and investors under the foreign Ministry,” – said Kuleba.

The owners and managers of Ukrainian business welcomed the initiative of the Embassy of Ukraine in Turkey on creation of the Ukrainian business Association in Turkey – an Association which aims to promote Ukrainian companies in the Turkish market.

In addition, all participants agreed on the need for further expansion of economic presence of Ukraine in Turkey.
