KIEV. April 30. UNN. On the background of the quarantine in Ukraine will increase the demand for affordable food, in particular chicken. This was told by senior researcher of the Department of investment and logistics of the National scientific center “Institute of agrarian economy” Yaroslav Nawrocki, reports UNN , citing the press service of the Institute.

“In this situation, the most promising sector of the poultry industry, as poultry meat is the most expensive,” – said the expert.

However, demand for other types of livestock production – will fall. We are talking about the meat of cattle. This is the most expensive type of meat products, which from the beginning of the year rose by 9.2% – to UAH 157,22 per kg.

In addition, demand may fall on some types of dairy products, in particular expensive cheeses.

Crop to develop unevenly, he said.

“Most likely there will be an increasing demand for products of borsch set: onions, carrots, potatoes, beets, and apples, because they are relatively cheap, goods shelf,” – said Nawrocki.

At the same time, the demand for groups of goods short term storage, such as tomatoes, cucumbers, berries and greens will fall, experts predict.

In turn, the demand for different types of grains and cereals is high, Nawrocki adds.

“If from February 2019 to February 2020, the average monthly price of buckwheat in retail chains grew by 74.5% – from 17.30 UAH/kg to 30.19 UAH/kg, only in March-April this year as a result of excessive demand she has grown by 43.2% to UAH 43,22/kg,” he informs.

The demand for tropical fruits and vegetables, nuts and organic products will also be reduced. As too valuable.

“This trend will intensify in the next few months. This will remain the demand for garlic, onion, ginger and lemon, as the types of products that in the opinion of the population is able to increase immunity,” he said.

Nawrocki predicts that this year, food manufacturers will “not sweet.” Due to weather conditions, problems with supply of spare parts for equipment, fertilizers, seeds, means of plant protection.

However, due to the high level of agriculture and industry, farmers ‘ crisis in agriculture will not, he said.
