Today the Kyiv district court of Odessa extended the arrest of two suspects in the assassination of the head of the local organization of the “Automaidan”, TV presenter Vitaly Ustimenko, committed on 5 June on Fontanskaya road.

As reported the UNIAN in a press-service of the court on November 14 extended the detention period of a suspect in the attempted murder Ustimenko.

“Thus, suspects will be detained without the ability to Deposit another 60 days,” – said the press service.

It is noted that according to investigators, on 5 June, two of the above defendants and another unidentified consequence the person attacked Ustimenko.

In particular, the men struck the victim several blows sharp objects. The activist was still alive, because he is actively resisted and the suspects fled the scene. The victim then was immediately hospitalized.

One of the arrested is a 27-year-old man originally from the Dnipropetrovsk region, the second 23 – year-old citizen registered in the Zhytomyr region.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on 5 June in Odessa, the assailants attacked the head of the local organization of the “Automaidan”, TV presenter Vitaly Ustimenko, when he left the office of “Public television”. Ran up the two men and began to beat on the head. Ustimenko fell, after which he was stabbed (presumably with a knife) in the upper part of the thigh. The activist believes that the attackers wanted to strike a sharp object in the kidneys.

Ustimenko often speaks out against the building of the coast, the historic center of Odessa and takes part in related protests.

In February of this year he was attacked in the premises of the Solomenskiy district court of Kiev chose a measure of restraint to the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov, who is suspected of misappropriation of property through abuse of position. Ustimenko were among activists opposed to the Trukhanov.

On September 25, the Prosecutor of Odessa region Oleg Zhuchenko declared that militiamen detained two suspects in the attack on Ustimenko, one in the Donetsk region, another – in the Dnepropetrovsk region.

At the court hearing in Odessa on election of a preventive measure, a suspect of Dnipropetrovsk region, claimed that he and another detainee, the soldiers of the 54th mechanized brigade APU. Both defendants were placed in jail without the right of bail. Meeting on election of a preventive measure the second defendant was held “behind closed doors” – the evening of September 26 reporters in the court said that the meeting will not take place, demanding to leave the institution.

September 28, the Prosecutor of Odessa region Oleg Zhuchenko told reporters that one of those arrested is a deserter.
