On 7 December the court has considered the petition for extension of detention of the Director “Victoria” UNIAN
The Kiev district court of Odessa today extended the measure of restraint in form of detention Petros Sarkisyan, a former Director of the children’s municipal sports complex “Victoria” which in 2017 during a fire killed three women from the creative team of “Adele”.

As UNIAN correspondent, December 7, the court considered the petition for extension of custody against the Director of “Victoria”.
In particular, the prosecution – the Prosecutor Oksana Mosko said the need to extend to the accused the period of detention in jail. The defense, in turn, objected and insisted on a milder measure of restraint.
The results of the hearing, the court extended the defendants detention for a further two months, i.e. until February 7, 2019.
At the meeting against Sargsyan’s stay in jail was made, including the lawyer of the victim Oksana Muravskaya, saying that in this case we can restrict round-the-clock house arrest and wearing an electronic bracelet. A similar view was expressed by the fathers of the dead girls Sonia Mazur and Anastasia Kulinich, and the father of the deceased third – Snjezana Armenti was against it.
As UNIAN reported earlier, in Odessa late on the evening of 15 September 2017 on the territory of camp “Victoria” there was a fire which resulted in the deaths of three pupils of the creative team of “Adele”.
In connection with the accident was arrested the Director of the complex Petros Sarkisyan and senior tutor Natalia Tsokur (Ancic), which duties were to be responsible for fire safety. On 24 April the court sentenced Tsokur to 3 years of imprisonment with a probation period of 2 years.
The defendant also is suspected of negligence, the former Vice-mayor of Odessa Zinaida Tsvirinko, the investigation which was completed on April 27. 3 October, she said in court that does not recognize his guilt.
In fact, also featured former head of the Kiev Department of GU gschs in the Odessa region and the inspector is suspected of negligence that caused grave consequences (part 2 of article 367 of the criminal code of Ukraine).
In may Prosecutor’s office said Sargsyan and his Deputy Tatyana Lannoy on suspicion of misappropriation of 120 thousand UAH of budgetary funds, and on June 18 in Kyiv district court of Odessa was sent to the indictment. In June, the Deputy Director of the camp reimbursed the city budget damages – more than 120 thousand UAH.
In early September, the Prosecutor’s office announced the suspected embezzlement of more than 400 thousand UAH of budgetary funds the head of the firm, which was engaged in reconstruction of the “Victoria”. In late October, the same Director of a private company was announced the suspicion in assignment of 1,7 million UAH of budget funds allocated for the reconstruction of the camp.
On 29 November the Executive Committee of the Odessa city Council made the decision to transfer “Victoria” under the placement of troops, and on 6 December by the Kiev regional court withdrew the arrest of stone buildings of the camp.
