This Sunday, the Chinese government officially reported the outbreak in the country a mysterious viral pneumonia, the victims of which have become 59. The officials emphasized that the disease is not associated with the flu-like SARS virus, which in 2002-2004 killed more than 800 people.

The outbreak was recorded last week in Wuhan, a city with a population of 11 million people. As reported by the Committee of health of the city, the medics rule out the likelihood “that this is normal, or avian influenza, adenovirus, SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome, SARS) or middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS)”. Only 59 people hospitalized, seven of whom are in serious condition. Deaths not yet recorded.

Infection broke out between 12 and 19 December, and some of these people worked at the local seafood market. Still not found evidence to support transmission of the virus from person to person. In hospitalized patients are the following symptoms – chills, shortness of breath, the x-ray visible invasive lesions of both lungs.

In the opinion of the representative of the world health organization (who), these symptoms are characteristic for several respiratory diseases, and pneumonia is one of the most common in the winter season.
