Chief editor of the online publication Stranaya Igor Guzhva he went to Vienna, where he intends to ask for political asylum in Austria. This is stated in treatment the editorial office of the President of Petro Poroshenko.

“We want to inform you that Igor Guzhva, he went to Vienna and asked for political asylum from the authorities of the Republic of Austria in accordance with the adopted procedure. We emphasize that Igor Guzhva went to Austria after he had expired the measure of restraint was determined by the court, and he received the legal right to leave Ukraine”, – stated in the message.

It is noted that Guzhva remains editor-in-chief and continues to lead “a publication from abroad.


Recall, late in the evening of June 22, siloviki came with a search warrant to the office of the Internet publication “Strenia” and detained its chief editor Igor Guzhva.

Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko wrote in Facebook that Guzhva was detained on extortion charges.
