Gerashchenko: Injury freed hostages to testify about torture
Former prisoners receive necessary medical assistance
Hostages released earlier had been tortured by the militants. This is evidenced by the nature of his injuries in captivity, according to Vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Gerashchenko in Facebook.
“Now 24, the ex-hostage soldiers undergo medical examinations and rehabilitation in a military hospital, 41 released (including civil and military) are in the hospital the HOOD (the State administration – ed.). Many people have an old head injury, broken teeth, evidence of torture (many had been severely beaten in the first difficult days)”, – she wrote.
Gerashchenko added that all the released hostages will receive medical care, dental services.
Also they will soon receive a one-time cash assistance from the Ministry of social policy. Also released and their families is supported by a team of psychologists.
We will remind, on December 27 in the area of Mayorsk Donetsk region took place the release of 73 Ukrainian hostages . The Ukrainian side handed over to the militants-controlled territory 233 people,but through the pardon and release them from custody.
