American fighter of the mixed style Justin Gati shared his emotions from winning the title of interim champion of the ultimate fighting championship (UFC) lightweight title in a battle with compatriot Tony Ferguson.

“What are the feelings of conquest belt? I am pleased. But I can’t call myself champion until there is a Habib. Nurmagomedov is still in business, and I have to meet him. This is my first game. I have a competitive spirit,” said Gati at a press conference after the tournament.
However, he said that he does not know when he’s ready to fight.
“While I want to enjoy my victory and receive the double bonus,” added Gati.
Gati defeated Ferguson via TKO in the fifth round in the main bout at UFC 249 in Jacksonville and became the first contender for the title fight with current champion the UFC lightweight Habib Nurmagomedov. For Ferguson it was the first defeat in eight years.
Earlier it was reported that Ferguson was taken to hospital after fight with Gati.
