Svyatoshinsky regional court of Kiev allowed to interrogate ex-interior Minister Vitaly Zakharchenko as a witness in the case against five former Berkut fighters accused of killing the 48 participants of the Maidan in February 2014. About it LIGA.net the lawyer said the ex-Berkut officers Alexander Gorodinsky.

According to him, the court partially granted the defense motion. To interrogate Zakharchenko, who is now in Russia, plan to videoconference.

Gorodinski noted that the court will make a request for international legal assistance, and then will take up the matter of the Ministry of justice of Ukraine and the Russian Federation.

The lawyer suggested that because of the upcoming holidays and season vacations the procedure will be delayed, so the interrogation of the ex-interior Ministers will be held, most likely, not earlier than autumn of this year.

At the same time, the court refused to question in the same case in video mode, the ex-Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.

18 February 2018, the Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko announced in the near future open trials Zakharchenko and former head of the SBU Alexander Yakimenko in the case of the executions of the revolution of dignity.
