Ex-accountant of the National Academy of fine arts will be judged for misappropriation of UAH 1.6 million

KIEV. July 31. UNN. The former accountant of the National Academy of fine art and architecture will be judged on the fact of assignment of 1,6 million UAH, which the students paid for tuition. It is reported by UNN with reference to the press service of the Kyiv Prosecutor’s office.

“Kiev local Prosecutor’s office No. 10 was sent to the court indictment against the former chief accountant of the National Academy of fine art and architecture on the fact of embezzlement and forgery (part 2, 3 of article 191, part 1 St. 366 criminal code of Ukraine). According to the investigation, accused during the 2017-2020 years, abusing official position, has developed a scheme of appropriation of funds that were paid by students of the Academy for training,” – said in the message.

Note that part 2, 3 of article 191 and part 1 St. 366 Criminal code of Ukraine are related to the embezzlement of budget funds through abuse of their official position, and the perfect re-introduction official into official documents of false information, resulting in serious consequences.

It is reported that upon receipt of students fee for educational services, chief accountant of the money brought in cash, and the remaining funds appropriated and disposed of them at its discretion.

“Thus, the defendant embezzled more than 1.6 million hryvnia, causing damage to the National Academy of fine arts and architecture in the specified amount. In General, during the investigation found more than 40 episodes of its illegal actions”, – stated in the message.

It is noted that the sanction of part 3 of article 191 of the criminal code of Ukraine prescribes punishment till 8 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term up to three years.
