Until recently, the Chinese company EHang has focused on the production of multicopters, which are used as air taxis and for transporting tourists. However, in order to prove the versatility of its Autonomous unmanned platform, the company has developed the firefighter quadcopter.

Fire version quadcopter EHang 216, equipped with a capacity from 145 gallons of flame retardant foam and six fire-extinguishing bombs, designed to fight fires in high-rise buildings within 5 km from location-based drones.

Arriving to the scene of the fire, EHang 216 using the camera with optical zoom identifies the source of fire, hangs in the right place, includes a laser guidance system, which throws flames in the room of the bomb-fire extinguisher and pours its flame retardant foam.

Features EHang 216 is still unknown, so you should focus on the performance characteristics of a passenger version, the maximum speed is 130 km/h, the maximum time spent in air – 21 min.

In early summer the civil aviation Administration of China issued EHang permission to use an air taxi service for delivery of heavy loads. Currently EHang 216 is operated only in China, but the company plans to sell fire multicopter worldwide.
