Yesterday, June 18, during the online speech at the EU summit and
“The Eastern partnership” the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said
that the country is ready to supply gas to the European market. He explained that
the state has for many years been a reliable supplier of oil.

Aliyev assured that supplies to Europe will involve South
gas corridor, which is designed for 16 billion cubic meters of gas. He explained that
deliveries will begin in the near future.

According to him, initially the gas will go to Turkey, where it will remain
about 10 billion cubic meters, and all the rest will be distributed among the other
the countries of Europe.

He recalled that all of the details for the new contract accounted for 90%
and delivery is scheduled for late 2020. At the moment the main supplier
gas in the region is Russia.

We will remind, in the beginning of 2018, it was reported that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has made the launch of the southern gas corridor, which
will supply natural gas to Europe.

It was noted earlier that 18 Jun Ilham Aliyev and Vladimir Putin
held telephone talks during which they discussed bilateral relations
and the situation with the pandemic COVID-19. Later, Aliyev refused to attend the Victory Day
in Moscow, on June 24.

Prior to this it was noted that on 17 December the President of Ukraine
Vladimir Zelensky held a bilateral meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. During negotiations, agreement was reached on several
important items in the development of the two countries.
