The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky asked the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov to urgently address the issue of allocation of land for arranging the free entry into the territory of Odessa sea port.

As reported the UNIAN in a press-service of the President of Ukraine, about Zelensky said during a visit to Odessa.

“We need to find a way to solve the problem of providing the land plot the Odessa sea port for the arrangement of entry to the port for business, which could be used free of charge,” – said the head of state.

In a press-service of the President noted that currently there is only one big way of access to the port owned by the private entity.

The President believes this situation is unacceptable and underlines that this creates a monopoly, which harms a large number of entrepreneurs.

Trukhanov has promised that his side will endeavour to resolve the issue, will keep it under control and will inform the President about the situation.

Reference to UNIAN. Odessa commercial sea port is one of the largest ports of the black sea-Azov basin, located in the northwestern part of the Black sea on crossing of historically developed trade routes of East and West. Technical possibilities of the port allow processing more than 18 million tons of dry and 25 million tons of liquid cargo per year.
