Wanted to create a “HNR” and to grant the Russian language the state status and received 6 years in prison in Kharkov, announced the verdict separatist Apuhtina

69-year-old Yuri Apukhtin, leader of the movement “South-East”, for organizing mass riots in Kharkiv sentenced by the Kiev regional court to 6 years imprisonment.

The Prosecutor’s office of Kharkiv failed to prove that in April 2014 Apukhtin was the organizer of the riots at the building of Kharkiv regional state administration. 69-year-old separatist has called for change of the constitutional order, the failure of the current government and the establishment of a “Kharkiv people’s Republic” reports “Диалог.UA”.

In August 2014, the activities of the movement “South-East” was banned by the Prosecutor’s office of Kharkov. The movement created Apukhtin March 30, 2014. Then he demanded to establish a Southeast Federal Republic within Ukraine with broad autonomy and granting the Russian language the status of state.

Apukhtin claimed that his movement is United by about 30 community organizations, including “Great Russia”, “matter of time” and “triune Russia”.
